Shipping Guidelines

Online orders can be placed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at riekersmeats.com.

All items are shipped from our fulfillment center in Philadelphia, PA. We ship orders within the 48 contiguous United States via UPS.  We make no guarantees about how soon an order will be shipped after it is placed.  If a package is going to the western United States, to a remote area not well serviced by UPS, if there is a holiday or weather that affects the UPS schedule, or if a product is sold out in the store, it can easily take over a week between when an order is placed and when it is shipped.  Please don’t call us two days after placing an order to ask where it is.

For UPS Ground orders, we ship our perishables as early in the week as possible so that they are delivered by end of the week, depending on your location. Most perishable orders placed Thursday through Sunday will ship the following Monday through Wednesday unless other arrangements are made for an additional charge. Orders placed Monday through Wednesday will be shipped based on where the package is going and product availability.  We do not ship on Saturday or Sunday as UPS does not pick up or deliver on Saturday or Sunday.

Paying for Next Day Air or Second Day Air doesn’t mean you will receive the order in one or two days after placing it.  It means you will get it one or two days after we process and hand it off to UPS.

Shipping charges are calculated per shipment and are based on the ship-to location and the estimated weight of your order. In order to give our customers the best shipping rates possible, we give each shipment a real-time shipping quote based on each individual order.  After you have chosen your items during the order process, the system will supply you with your real-time shipping quote. Your order is not billed or processed until after you receive your quote and approve your order on the order confirmation page.  Shipping costs are determined solely by UPS.  

Please note that customers on the west coast should not select UPS Ground shipping, as such orders can often not be delivered by Friday of the same week.  No amount of dry ice or ice packs will keep our perishable products fresh for more than five days.  Customers who fall into this category who select UPS Ground will be given the option to either pay an additional fee to upgrade to UPS 3-Day Select (or Second Day Air, if applicable) or to have their order cancelled and their money refunded.
